    The Next Step to Moab

We were unable to get reservations to the campground that we have used in our past Moab trips as they were all booked up.  Brian found another site that is almost as nice and cheaper!!

So we are one step closer to the Moab trip… the cabins are reserved!

Who wants to take a 36 hour drive?

I cannot wait to get to Utah again this year!  We just started planning the trip and time always flies by when we start planning the trip.

So every year that we have gone to Moab, we have driven straight through from Atlanta in Jeeps.  That’s four people, two Jeeps and thirty-six hours one-way.  It isn’t as bad as you may think.  The excitement of getting there keeps us going.  The way back…not so much.

The trip usually consists of four people:  Brian, Leif, Myself, and one other.  Last year it was Kevin, Leif’s best friend from Texas.  We have decided to make him a permanent addition to the trip.  This year, we are adding three others:  Wes, John, and possibly David, though David has yet to confirm.

Also this year, we are trying something different to avoid the numb legs, cramped muscles, and shear boredom that driving 36 hours in a Jeep will cause.  We are going to try to find a truck and trailer to rent to pull the Jeeps or maybe we will ship them.  Both of these things seem expensive, but the most expensive part of the trip has historically been the fuel for the Jeeps.  Hopefully, these will be comparable in cost if not cheaper… one can hope.

If it all doesn’t work out, we will just have to drive it again.  It is beautiful country and the best place to off-road, after all. Moab, UT

Nearly That Time O’ Year Again

It is getting close to tax season and that means it is getting close to upgrades to the Jeep.  This year I have two upgrades in mind.

Upgrade #1 - I am going to sell my existing Winch to a friend and replace it with…The Warn 9.5ti Thermometric Self Recovery Winch.

    The WARN 9.5ti

9500 lbs. of pulling capacity packed into a massive aluminum die-cast body. [Straight from the catalog]

Upgrade #2 - Viair X’treme Duty Onboard Air System

Viair X'treme Duty Onboard Air System

100% Duty Cycle, 2.68 CFM with dual compressors.

I can’t wait to get it all installed and prepped for this year’s Moab Trip!

This isn’t my first blog post

Nor is this my first blog.  In fact I have had many blogs both public, private and semi-private.  Professional, personal, hobby-related, and techie.  This is however, is going to be a blog that I expect to be about just anything.  You will probably see many Jeep related posts on this blog as I love my Jeep and plan many more adventures with it.
